Do visit this little oasis, which is situated on Church Lane near the crossroads with Breckstreet Lane and Mill Lane. Our thanks to Roger Brook for maintaining the garden until Spring 2020. Peter writes an interesting blog called: nodiggardener.
The plot is owned by the Parish Council for the use of villagers and has gradually been reclaimed since 2005. Once the site of charitable homes for older village residents, the old fruit trees remain but only the foundations of the houses.
It has recently been taken on by Mr and Mrs Taplin and their hard work is already evident. The floor plan of the cottages has been exposed and there is a new entrance using one of the old cottage paths. There is a small area which will interest children. The next goal is a small wildflower meadow.
Please feel free to visit, wander, sit and enjoy.
