Roadworks: Everingham Lane between New Mill and Rythamgate – POSTPONED

Due to the current freezing conditions, the resurfacing work has been postponed until Monday, February 9th.

Infrastructure & Facilities, East Riding of Yorkshire Council are pleased to inform us that remedial action is due to be undertaken to resolve the problem of surface failure to the carriageway at Everingham Lane, Seaton Ross.

The tarmac supplier has acknowledged that, although testing with reference to the specification has proved inconclusive, the material laid is inconsistent and problematic and has agreed to fund an overlay to resolve the problem.

The work is therefore programmed to take place in the first week in February 2015.

On Monday 2nd February, there will be joints cut in the surface in preparation with temporary traffic control.

On Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th February a new surface layer will be laid.

We hope to complete this work in one day but will allow a second day in case of supply or weather problems.

Unfortunately, it will again be necessary to close the road to through traffic during working hours (8am – 6pm) for the surfacing work. This will not affect the junctions at each end.
