We are so excited that in 2014, Seaton Ross wants to revive our great tradition of a village summer social event, and bring it into the 21st Century as a Music Festival – Seaton Ross Fest 2014 on 14th June.
The aim is to put on an afternoon & evening of music from local talent & wider a field, of different styles that will appeal to everyone, whatever their age. One big village community event!
This is not a small undertaking but we have a core community, & wider group of supporters, all focused on making this is a fabulous success.
In times of austerity, we are very keen this event is free of charge for all. This creates a challenge. We have been promised a number of private donations, and plan some advance fund raising, and Quiz Night is one of those events.
Our main costs will be the equipment, lighting, power, barriers, fire extinguishers, and most importantly the musicians & singers. Please come along and support us, and have a great evening too.
Seaton Ross has a rich history of annual shows tracking back many decades. Each has been focused on a different theme.
The Seaton Ross Show was a grand country fair and, the Seaton Ross Feast was focused on craft & produce and children’s sports. Now we want to re-launch Seaton Ross Fest as a Musical Festival. Each has been a landmark in our social calendar, and a great social event, and we hope that this tradition will continue.
Within the village there are a number of charitable organisations including the Playing fields, Village Hall and St Edmunds church, and any profits from the day will be donated to these charitable bodies, plus some held in reserve for future years.
